Ron Rock, Government Relations

Ron Rock joined the firm after more than 30 years of New York State service. He has held executive appointed positions under Governors Cuomo, Pataki and Spitzer, most recently as the State’s Deputy Budget Director overseeing the State’s Transportation, Economic Development, Environment, Energy, Housing, Public Protection and Intergovernmental Relations issues. Ron has been the primary architect of the legislation creating the State’s multibillion Transportation Plans since his appointment as the Assistant Secretary of Transportation under Governor Cuomo. His responsibilities expanded to include the State’s multibillion Economic Development program under Governor Pataki, including serving as the Governor’s appointee to the State’s Dormitory Authority Board, one of the largest issuers of tax exempt bonds in the country. Under Governor Spitzer, Education was added to his portfolio and the Governor appointed him to Chair the New York State Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Board. In addition to his State service, Ron also serves as the Chairman of SEFCU, one of the largest credit unions in the country with almost $2 billion in assets.
